Lacrimosa is a band formed in Germany consisting of Tilo Wolff and Anne
Nurmi (Finland). Musical styles mixed items such as Gothic Metal, Gothic Rock,
neoclassical, symphonic, Strings, Trumpets and other classical instruments. His
lyrics are written mostly in German, although some of his albums have content
in English, Spanish, Russian, Latin and Finnish. His songs are about
loneliness, the analogy between man and robot, sadness, darkness, despair,
happiness, hope, despair, death and love.
The story begins when Tilo Wolff and Christian Dörge were released in the year 1987, when Tilo Wolff was only 16 years and decided to recruit Dörge "promises" of the German Gothic movement with the album "Lycia". This project plays Tilo 4 songs. The album was not released until 1992, after the second album of Lacrimosa, was produced by Dörge and Tilo and released under the seal of the latter, Hall of Sermon. In November 1990, shows "Cry" (original name "Angst") his first credited and holder of a story by itself.
The first official album of Lacrimosa, "Angst" (Fear), is an album of minimalist music, slow, sounding melancholic, nostalgic, the music is based on repetitive percussion drums and a keyboard-dominated sound and a voice depressive, deep, nostalgic.
In 1993 during the promotional tour of Satura, Tilo Wolff Anne Nurmi met keyboardist and backing vocals of Two Witches who asked to support him on keyboards during his tour. Tilo is convinced Anne's talent and invited to join permanently Lacrimosa, Lacrimosa thus becomes a duet.
Lacrimosa's musical development can be summarized as follows: starting slow and minimalist music centered on the keyboards of "Angst", guitars and other metal elements were added gradually to reach its climax in "Silent". Since then, the emphasis shifted from the metallic elements to a more classical composition, clearly marked with "Fassade". Finally, "Echos" gives a twist away from the earlier classical metal elements and producing a musical style is hard to describe. Lacrimosa's musical development is peaceful, with each album has a musical connection with its predecessor and its successor
